CLASSIC BIKE
The Mountains of the Tour of Italy
The history of the Tour of Italy was written also in Valle Camonica, on the mythical hills of the Alpine passes such as Gavia, Mortirolo, or the climb to Plan di Montecampione.
Mountains that have become legendary, characterized by breath- taking views, where strategic stages are run for the sports kermesse and the place of unforgettable cycling deeds, by now legendary, linked to the great names of international cycling: Fausto Coppi, Gino Bartali, Francisco Galdós, Bernard Hinault, Miguel Indurain, Marco Pantani, Ivan Basso, Gilberto Simoni and many others.
The Oglio River Cycle Track
It is a cyclist-pedestrian itinerary which links as many as 282 ki- lometres of routes along the shores of the homonymous stream, starting at Tonale Pass (1,883 m a.s.l.), going through the varied landscape of Valle Camonica, then flanking the charming shores of Lake Iseo, and then among the vineyards of Franciacorta, to- ward the North Oglio Park, all the way to the South Oglio Park, to reach the mouth into the Po river (St. Matteo delle Chiaviche, 21 m a.s.l.).
In the over 80 kilometres of the Camunian section, the Oglio Riv- er Cycle Track unfolds at 70% in its own course, but the entire route is marked by proper direction signs.
From Tonale Pass, going down along State Road 42 you get to Ponte di Legno, where you can start on the Upper Valley cycle track (12 km, paved and protected), which links the renowned tourist centre to Vezza d’Oglio. From here to Mu, near Edolo, you run along dirt roads with mild gradients, then, along muletracks and mixed courses with low traffic you arrive in Malonno.
After that, follow again State Road 42 to Forno Allione, then get into the dirt road to Berzo Demo (St. Zenone bridge), where you take again the State Road to Scianica of Sellero, going through Cedegolo on a mixed pedestrian section, and take the dirt road to Capo di Ponte. The cycle route proceeds then in its own track (except for very brief sections) for over 40 kilometres, alternating urban and natural landscapes and going through the centres of Breno, Cividate Camuno, Darfo Boario Terme and Pisogne, where it connects to the scenic section of the Vello-Toline cycle track, of extraordinary beauty.

Gran Fondo dell'Adamello

The course unfolds between Borno, Lozio and Ossimo, for 40 ki- lometres in length and about 1,300 m positive elevation change, on dirt roads, forest roads and single-track: an enjoyable mix of paths in an extraordinary natural scenery, between the Presolana massif, the views of Concarena, the Cerveno mountains and the marvel of Pizzo Camino.
The itinerary starts from the centre of Borno and goes along a muletrack in Ossimo Superiore, where the most demanding sec- tion begins: passing by the charming Lova Lake (1,350 m a.s.l.), it climbs to 1,580 m a.s.l. at Colle Mignone. From here, the track proceeds with the long descent to Villa di Lozio, where the uphill going starts again all the way to the Cerveno mountains. Then, riding along the Resistance Path, you go back down to Laveno and Sucinva (Lozio), to go back then to Ossimo Superiore and finally to Borno.
